Queer poet, community activist, and famed drag performer, Skyler Jay (aka Pagan Holiday) is hosting a Poetry in the Park event in honor of National Poetry Month. Poetry can be a powerful tool for spiritual expression–to help us go beyond linear thinking and rule following. We will meet in Alsopp Park at 6:15pm, for one hour, then go for drinks afterwards to debrief. Please RSVP to Shea: msmcg9@gmail.com Bring your own chairs/picnic blankets, and your’e welcome to share your own writing (5 min max, no hateful content that’s racist, sexist, ableist, etc.).
Together we will explore ideas to grow & heal: unpack theology, queer the bible, heal religious trauma, & worship if that’s your thing. We are deconstructing and reconstructing our spiritual lives together, supporting and cavorting, never controlling. Curious about a spiritual practice, theology, or idea? Explore with us! If you are interested but cannot attend, please reply to let us know to keep including you! Hosted by Queer Collective
