Our wandering experiment continues with a visit to a queer affirming, intentionally racially diverse Baptist congregation – yes, it exists!
Second Baptist Church Downtown (of the Cooperative Baptist Affiliation that ordains women and queer folk) has a mission of radical inclusion, and boasts multiple queer staff members in their large congregation! We’ll join them on May 11 for their contemporary, praise-band led service at 10:30am, and converse with the queer leadership afterwards about their service, welcome, beliefs and anything else we want to share. Also, they do NOT plan anything special for Mother’s Day (a touchy subject sometimes) other than mentioning it in prayer.
